Whether you’re a self proclaimed Thronie, or travelling with a super fan, this tour transports you to some of the most recognisable filming locations used during the making of the World Famous series Game of Thrones.

Tour Information

Stop #1

Carrickfergus Castle

Enjoy the first stop of the tour at Carrickfergus Castle – Ireland's best preserved Norman Fortress, although it wasn’t featured in Game of Thrones, it sets a beautiful backdrop for the day – a castle any Lannister would be proud to inhabit!

Stop #2

Carnlough Harbour

We’re now in Braavos! Cast your memory back to Season 6 when Arya has escaped Waif disguised as an old woman, and she emerges from the Canal, and up the steps into Braavos/Carnlough. You can even view a plaque erected in the scenes honour!

Stop #3

Portaneevy Viewing Point/Carrick-a-Rede Ropebridge

You’ll be amazed when you see the iconic ropebridge that was originally built by salmon fishermen over 250 years ago! Transport your mind to the Iron Islands and the Grasslands, and you’ll feel like you’re in an episode of Game of Thrones!

Stop #4

Lunch – Fullerton Arms, Ballintoy

By now you’ll be ready to enjoy some local pub grub style food in the popular Fullerton Arms. Your driver will share a menu onboard the coach which will allow you to pre-order food, that can be washed down with a pint of Guiness, or one of their famous Irish Coffee’s! (cost not included). Have your photo taken with the stunning Official Larrybane Door (Door 6), from the “Doors of Thrones” project.

Stop #5

Giant’s Causeway

The main stop of the day is at this iconic natural wonder of the world. Whether you believe the science behind its creation, or the folklore behind Irish Giant Finn MacCool who created it during an argument with a Scottish Giant – you can’t fail to be amazed by it.

Make sure you have your phone charged up for photos that you’ll not capture anywhere else in the world! Although Giant’s Causeway isn’t featured in Game of Thrones, you can’t come all this way and not visit it.

Stop #6

Dunluce Castle

CGI has a part to play here, but think Castle Pyke! Dunluce was the real-life backdrop for Castle Pyke – just with some digital enhancements! The dramatic ruins of this medieval fortress are balanced on the edge of the cliffs on the North Antrim Coastline.

Stop #7

Bushmills

Bushmills is the home of The World’s Oldest Licenced Whiskey Distillery – Old Bushmills (1608). We can’t say for sure, but we’d like to think this was what was in some of Tyrion Lannister’s goblets!

Stop #8

The Dark Hedges

The final stop of the day is the iconic Dark Hedges – possibly the most recognisable Game of Thrones Filming Location. The stunning tree lined road was originally planted by The Stuart Family in 1775 as a dramatic entrance to their estate, but is now better known as The Kings Road, where Arya Stark escaped Kings Landing in Season 2.

This is the last stop of the day before heading back to Belfast, and a great place to grab one last coffee or snack for the journey home to enjoy while you look back over your Instagram worthy photos, and remember the fun you’ve had along the way.

All FAQs

: Unfortunately, bathrooms are not in use on board the coach as all passengers must remain seated with seatbelts on. However, we will have comfort stops along the way!
: Yes, everyone is welcome on our tours!
: All seats on the coach are the same price for everyone, with the exception of the “Premium Seat” option upgrade.
: Lunch is not included - our driver will be happy to make recommendations to you as to where is good to eat, with the exception of our Giant’s Causeway Day Tour, and Game of Thrones Day Tour, where the designated lunch stop is The Fullerton Arms in Ballintoy (cost not included).

If you are lucky enough to get Karl on your trip to the Causeway and other stop, you're in for a craic as he would say.

Knowledgeable about the local area with plenty of personal insight as well as some personal history with the area. Funny tales about local myths and legends compared with great driving skills will get you through the winding and narrow roads in a blink. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, this is also a must do trip as it stops at numerous locations used in the series, the most famous being the icy wall of the Night's Watch, though you'll find it less icy in real life.

Today has been nothing less than spectacular.

Ray has been super charming, he's such an amazing storyteller, all while driving at the same time which is quite impressive! The reason why I chose McComb's was purely for convenience sake, they have made everything super easy, I have been able to hit all the sites I wanted to see in one day and it's really been a dream come true.
